We all know that hyaluronic acid is great for your skin, hair and joints, but did you know it’s also great for your eyes? That’s right! Hyaluronic acid provides hydration, moisturization and lubrication for dry, irritated, and watery eyes! Not to mention that it’s also great for anti-aging, wound-healing, improving skin collagen and elasticity, and strengthening connective tissue to improve joint mobility.
There are several benefits of hyaluronic acid, but finding the right kind is key! When it comes to topical applications, such as eye drops, skin care ingredients, serums, creams, and ointments, a high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid may be favorable. CorneaCare’s oral Hyaluronic Acid supplement uses a naturally sourced low-molecular weight formulation that leads to higher gut absorption, better circulation in blood vessels, and deeper penetration of tissues.
We built our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid for dry eyes when nothing else works. It’s truly the first ever dry eye hyaluronic acid supplement. But why settle for just healthy eyes? Our Hyaluronic Acid supplement will also improve your skin, hair and joints! Eyecare is indeed a part of self-care.
Vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids can provide antioxidation and anti-inflammation, which can be helpful in repairing and recovering the body. However, you may struggle to get all of these essential nutrients from a healthy diet alone. Dietary supplements can help fill those gaps in your diet and provide everything you need so you can enjoy clear vision, a strong body, and a fit mind.
So what food sources are the best for eye health and overall nutrition? To get the most out of your diet, you should try to include a variety of different types of vegetables and leafy greens. These foods are a good source of vitamins and antioxidants. Whole grains, nuts and legumes are also packed with nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals. Citrus fruits are excellent sources of vitamin C, while orange vegetables are rich in vitamins and carotenoids. Essential fatty acids come from fatty fish, including sardines, mackerel, anchovies, trout, cod and salmon. The best vegetarian sources of these fatty acids are flaxseed oil, canola oil, chia seeds, soybean and algal oil.
The body naturally makes hyaluronic acid, but its production decreases as we age, due to hormonal changes and sun exposure. Unfortunately, hyaluronic acid isn’t available in high amounts from any natural food source. Although you could increase your natural hyaluronic acid production by consuming foods rich in magnesium and zinc, it still may not be enough.1
We understand that it can be hard to consume all the necessary nutrients from a diet. This is why we created our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement to address the nutritional needs of your eyes and body without overdoing it. It delivers a best-in-class formulation to support your eyes, hair, skin and joints.
Not all hyaluronic acid supplements are created equal! While high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid is good for serums, creams and ointments, it’s not great for digestion.
Oral hyaluronic acid is naturally high in molecular weight, so it can’t easily cross the barrier that separates the gut and the bloodstream. This is why most hyaluronic acid supplements end up exiting the body – with no real benefits to be seen.
We specifically engineered our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid so it’s 99% smaller than other forms of oral hyaluronic acid! This leads to better absorption in your gut and faster travel through the blood stream to support your eyes, hair, skin and joints. Moreover, since our hyaluronic acid is naturally sourced, it has a higher affinity to your natural tissue, which leads to deeper tissue penetration.2
Hyaluronic acid, also referred to as hyaluronan, is a key constituent of the extracellular matrix, which supports the cells in the connective tissue, cartilage, and skin. Hyaluronic acid is technically classified as a glycosaminoglycan, a polysaccharide. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, which means that it attracts and binds water molecules and promotes hydration and moisturization.3
Sodium hyaluronate is a derivative of hyaluronic acid. You may notice several hyaluronic acid products actually list sodium hyaluronate as the active ingredient. This is likely because sodium hyaluronate has a smaller molecular weight than hyaluronic acid and is more stable, that is, has a longer shelf life, which is important for skincare products.4
Hyaluronic acid is found throughout the body, with high concentrations in your eyes, skin and joints.
Molecular weight is the mass of a given molecule, and in this context, it determines absorption in the gut, circulation in the blood, and penetration of bodily tissues. The lower the molecular weight, the better the absorption, circulation and tissue penetration.
The molecular weight is very important in determining the effects of hyaluronic acid. For hyaluronic acid injections, a high-molecular weight may be favorable so it stays longer in the joint fluid. When it comes to topical skincare products, high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid may be favorable for gels and ointments meant to provide a skin barrier, while low-molecular weight may be important for creams and serums to promote deeper skin penetration.
Similarly, for oral hyaluronic acid supplements, low molecular weight is favorable. In its natural state, hyaluronic acid is an extremely high molecular weight substance, measuring 800,000 to 8,000,000 daltons, which is too large for gut absorption.
CorneaCare’s High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement is engineered to be 1,500 and 5,000 Daltons (less than 1% the size of other formulations), which leads to better absorption, circulation, and tissue penetration of your eyes, skin, hair and joints.5
Hyaluronic acid is found in high concentrations in eye fluids, and is commonly used in artificial tears. However, the issue is that artificial tears may be short-lived, as the eye tends to wash them out, leading to only temporary relief. Oral ingestion of hyaluronic acid helps you moisturize and hydrate from the inside out, meaning that it’s in your bloodstream and reaches all critical areas through your intricate cardiovascular network.
CorneaCare High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement is perfect for eye dryness, redness, irritation, burning, itching, pain, crusting, flaking, discharge, gritty sensation, light sensitivity and blurry vision. In fact, one study found that when topical hyaluronic acid artificial tears were combined with oral hyaluronic acid, patients had significantly better treatment outcomes.6
Did you know that our Rise Eyelid Wipes also contain hyaluronic acid? That’s right. When you combine our eyelid wipes and our hyaluronic acid supplement, you get the support from the outside with the fortification from the inside!
Hyaluronic acid is present in significant quantities throughout the skin, including the epidermis. In fact, almost 50% of the total hyaluronic acid in the body is found in multiple layers of skin.
Several skincare products contain hyaluronic acid to promote skin hydration and skin moisture. This may help with dry skin, fine lines, dehydrated skin, wound healing and anti-aging. During pregnancy and while breastfeeding, women may experience skin changes and skin aging due to hormonal variations. Hyaluronic acid may prevent that and is safe during pregnancy and thereafter.
Dermatologists commonly recommend hyaluronic acid as part of a daily skincare routine, along with vitamin C and retinol, when appropriate. Dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid are also commonly used in dermatology and plastic surgery.
Speak with your dermatologist if you have sensitive skin, and to determine which hyaluronic acid cream, serum or lotion is right for your skin type and skin look.
When injected, hyaluronic acid can provide temporary relief from pain, inflammation and stiffness. It has been used for years as a medical device for treating joint pain, spinal cord compression and post-operative swelling. Specifically, hyaluronic acid may be helpful for osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain syndrome and chronic fatigue.
Supplements are meant to “supplement,” and not replace your diet. Our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement works best when you also consume a well-balanced diet, and avoid certain foods that may be harmful for the body.
Our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement works best when you consume them two times a day (morning and evening). Your gut has a limit on how many micronutrients it can absorb at a given time, and therefore spacing out the dosing to morning and evening allows to minimize waste and maximize absorption.
Consuming CorneaCare‘s High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement after food may help to improve absorption of other micronutrients. Moreover, hyaluronic acid works synergistically with other vitamins and minerals to promote wound healing by controlling inflammation and redirecting blood flow to damaged tissue. Lastly, hyaluronic acid, calcium, and fatty acids may help against osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
Taking our High Absorption Hyaluronic Acid supplement after a meal will ensure you get the most benefit from the supplement and from your diet!
