CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals Supplement

Take the guesswork out of choosing which vitamins and minerals you need for your eyes, mind and body.

CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals dietary supplement is a single multivitamin that addresses your total nutritional needs. With its proprietary blend of over 20 key vitamins, minerals and micronutrients, our multivitamin reduces inflammation and oxidations, and promotes visual, mental and physical health. Enjoy healthy eyes, a strong body, and a fit mind without confusion or inconvenience.

Eye Health Nutrition and Supplements

Eating a well-balanced diet is essential to living a healthy life. A diet rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids can provide anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation, which is necessary to repair and recover from life’s daily wear-and-tear.1

Nutritional health and dry eye disease

However, with our busy schedules and active lifestyles, getting all the essentials from diet alone can be difficult. Sometimes accessibility to the proper foods can be an issue. That is when nutritional supplements can help bridge the gap, and make sure you’re giving your body everything it needs to enjoy healthy vision, a strong body and a fit mind.

So what foods are the best for eye health and overall nutrition?2 Green vegetables and leafy greens can provide an excellent source of vitamins and antioxidants. Whole grains, nuts and legumes are loaded with multivitamins and minerals. Citrus fruits can be an excellent source of vitamin C, while orange veggies (like sweet potatoes, bell peppers and carrots) are rich in vitamins and carotenoids, which are plant pigments (like beta-carotene, lutein, lycopene and zeaxanthin) and are potent anti-oxidizers. Finally sardines, mackerel and salmon are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil softgels), which are anti-inflammatory and promote nerve function.

Lifestyle Changes: balanced diet, working with the weather, taking regular breaks

It can seem daunting and almost impossible to consume all the necessary vitamins, minerals and micronutrients daily. Vitamin supplements can play an important role in supplementing your diet, so you give your body everything it needs. However, having to purchase separate whole-body supplements and eye supplements can be inconvenient and confusing. This is precisely why we made CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals, which is a single multivitamin for your eyes, mind and body!

CorneaCare Eye Vitamins & Minerals Ingredients

Our proprietary formulation has over 20 key vitamins, minerals and micronutrients to address the nutritional needs of your eyes, mind and body; without overdoing it!

Vitamins

  • Vitamin A

Vitamin A is crucial to several bodily functions, including eyes, skin, immune system, bones and reproductive health. For the eyes specifically, Vitamin A is crucial for eye development and for the surface of your eyes and the retina. In fact, Vitamin A deficiency can lead to scarring of your ocular surface, dry eyes, and problems with night vision.

When you consume Vitamin A in food, it’s typically in the form of beta-carotene, which your body converts to the active form of Vitamin A. Our Eye Vitamins & Minerals provides Vitamin A in retinyl palmitate form which is easier to absorb by the body and readily converted to the active form.

  • Vitamin B Complex (B1, B2, B3 (Niacin), B5 (Pantothenic Acid) B6, B7 (Biotin), B9 and B12)

Vitamin B Complex plays an important role in your mood, energy levels, skin and hair, immune system, and the proper functioning of your nerves and nervous tissue. In fact, a Vitamin B complex deficiency may lead to problems with your nervous tissue and accumulation of homocysteine in your blood which causes inflammation and cell damage. For the eyes specifically, Vitamin B complex may help slow cataract progression and protect against age-related macular degeneration by promoting anti-oxidation and preventing homocysteine build-up.3

  • Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and plays a vital role in collagen formation, which is needed for tissue repair and wound healing. Vitamin C helps with immune function, skin and hair, blood circulation and heart health. Vitamin C plays an important role in protecting your eyes from free radicals. By doing so, it may decrease symptoms of dry eyes, reduce cataract progression and lower the risk for age-related macular degeneration.

  • Vitamin D

Vitamin D is involved in several physiological functions, including the heart, bones, immune system, hormone regulation, calcium regulation, and many more. For the eyes specifically, Vitamin D helps decrease inflammation, fortify the ocular surface, stabilize the tear film, and increase tear production. Moreover, it may also reduce the risk for cataract progression, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma.

  • Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant and protects your body from free radicals, which can damage cells. It plays a vital role in eye health, reproduction and protects your blood, brain and skin. Vitamin E protects the cells that make up your cornea and conjunctiva, which may help fend off dry eye disease. Moreover, Vitamin E may also prevent cataract progression and reduce the risk for age-related macular degeneration.4

  • Vitamin K

Vitamin K is vital for the proper functioning of your blood, from reducing clotting risk, regulating blood calcium levels to promoting proper blood circulation. It is also involved in bone and gut health, and metabolism. Vitamin K may help the blood circulation in your retina, while strengthening your ocular surface.

Minerals

  • Magnesium

Magnesium is involved in multiple biochemical reactions in the body. It is fundamental to the physiological functioning of your brain, blood, bones, heart, kidneys and many more. Not to mention that it works synergistically with other essential minerals to promote health. Magnesium may help protect against glaucoma, retinal issues, and ocular migraines.5

  • Zinc

Zinc plays an important role in digestion, nerve function, metabolism and your immune system. For the eyes specifically, zinc works with Vitamin A to protect your retina and lens, which may help reduce the risk for retinal issues and cataract progression, respectively.

  • Selenium

Selenium is a powerful antioxidant that protects your heart, boosts your immune system, and plays an important role in hormone regulation, bone function and reproduction. Because of its anti-oxidizing properties, Selenium can guard against free radicals from damaging your eyes. Specifically, it may help reduce cataract formation and protect your retina. Moreover, it may help patients with thyroid eye disease in regulating their thyroid hormone and the associated impact on the eyes.6

  • Copper

Copper helps with the absorption of iron, boosts immunity, improves blood circulation, and protects your nerves and skin. Copper also helps with zinc regulation. For the eyes, copper functions as an antioxidant and builds stronger tissue integrity, which helps your ocular surface, the lens and retina.

Proteins and Amino Acids

  • N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine

N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent. It plays an important role in brain function, lung physiology, heart health and immune support. With the eyes, it can protect the retina and the ocular surface from oxidative damage, which may cause retinal problems and dry eyes, respectively.7

  • Taurine

Taurine plays a role in cognitive function, muscle development, mood and energy. It also promotes hydration, bile salt formation (needed for digestion), and regulates the minerals in your body. For the eyes specifically, taurine is involved in retinal function, and in protecting your ocular surface from highly concentrated tears (more salt than water), which is a feature of dry eye disease.

Carotenoids

  • Lutein and Zeaxanthin

Lutein and zeaxanthin are plant pigments that are vital in protecting the macula, thus reducing the risk for age-related macular degeneration. They may also protect your lens from UV radiation, and reduce cataract formation and progression. Because of their antioxidant properties, they may also help with reducing damage to the ocular surface and reducing dry eye symptoms.8

  • Lycopene

Lycopene is related to beta-carotene (precursor for Vitamin A), and is another plant pigment. Like lutein and zeaxanthin, lycopene is a potent antioxidant, and protects your ocular surface, lens and retina.

  • Age-related eye disease studies

(AREDS/AREDS2) were studies sponsored by the National Eye Institute (NEI) that looked at the benefits of key vitamins, minerals and micronutrients on eye health. They found that a combination of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, copper (as cupric oxide), zinc, lutein and zeaxanthin improved visual outcomes in patients with age-related macular degeneration.9

We made sure that CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals contained all the AREDS2 ingredients and much more!

Eye Diseases and Eye Conditions that Benefit from Nutritional Supplements

Eyecare is a vital part of healthcare. Working with an eye doctor (ophthalmologist and optometrist) to get annual eye exams, address eye problems and prevent eye conditions can make a big difference in your overall health and wellbeing!

Eating a well-balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, micronutrients and omega-3 fatty acids that promotes anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation is crucial for a healthy life. In addition to fortifying your body and strengthening your mind, a good diet can also protect your eyes and preserve your eyesight.10

However, it can be difficult to make sure your body gets all the essentials from food on a daily basis. That‘s when nutritional supplements can make a big difference. For your eyes specifically, nutritional supplements may help with slowing down cataract formation and progression by reducing damage from UV radiation. Similarly, key supplements can help shield the surface of your eye (cornea and conjunctiva) from free radicals and other pro-inflammatory markers. Lastly, as the AREDS/AREDS2 studies showed, eye supplements may protect your retina (and macula specifically) from worsening age-related macular degeneration.

We made sure that our Eye Vitamins & Minerals contain everything you need for your eyes, mind and body!

How to Use CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals Dietary Supplement

The role of any supplement is to “supplement” and not replace your diet. In order to get the best benefits of CorneaCare’s Eye Vitamins & Minerals, it is important to also consume a well-balanced diet, and avoid certain foods that may be harmful for the body. The role of our supplement is to bridge certain gaps in your diet without overdoing it.

It is best to use our Eye Vitamins & Minerals two times a day to maximize absorption in the body. Your gut has a limit on how many micronutrients it can absorb at a given time, and therefore spacing out the dosing to morning and evening allows to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

Consuming CorneaCare‘s Eye Vitamins & Minerals after food may promote better absorption of micronutrients that you naturally consume. For example, Vitamin A helps your body absorb Vitamin E, and Vitamin D helps your body absorb phosphorus. Consuming our Eye Vitamins & Minerals after a meal will assure you get the most benefit from the supplement and from your diet!
